The use of Q10 energy capsules has been steadily growing in the past few years. The most common form of these capsules is as a dietary supplement and as a health supplement. The most recommended amount of Q10 dosage would be around 50-90 mgs for every other meal. This amounts to around 100-200 mgs of Q10 per day. People who are suffering from Q10 deficiency or are taking Q10 as treatment can take as much as 1200 mgs of Q10 per day.

For an individual with normal health, taking an increased dose is not recommended because it may have some side effects. Although this is a practiced precaution, there have only been rare cases wherein individuals suffered from mild symptoms caused by an increased dose of Q10. These symptoms include nausea, mild headaches and an upset stomach.

The recommended dose for most individuals can be increased to as much as 300 mgs per day but these could be excessive, especially for someone with good health. Q10 treatments for debilitating disorders such as Parkinson’s disease usually starts at 400 mgs and can gradually increase, depending on the severity of the disorder.  Treatment using Q10 also varies depending on the existing treatment and medication.
